We have been asked time and time again, "Why is the church named Renaissance?" The answer is ...  this potent word describing a rebirth, renewal, or awakening signifies the vision of the church. We want to see a renaissance... a revival of spiritual vitality in the lives of our people, and to lead a revival of spiritual awakening to our community and world.  We tried to capture this in a simple but challenging mission statement:  Helping people FIND and FULFILL the call of Christ.   BECAUSE OF THIS VISION... we are first and foremost a worshipping Church.  We believe worship is what kindles the fire in our hearts to be the people God has called us to be.  We intentionally create an environment for people to enter into worship.  We pray that non-Christians among us would sense the very presence of God, and be drawn toward Him.  We teach the Word of God through a verse-by-verse approach believing it is the best way to follow the true thoughts of God!  We want our people to grow deep and strong in the Word.     BECAUSE OF THIS VISION... we believe in the power of prayer.  We practice prayer in our service, and make it a priority for the church.  When we pray God works!  It is one of the most important things that we do.  We set aside times for prayer and fasting.  We cultivate in our people the vision for what God can do through our prayers and by the power of His Spirit.      BECAUSE OF THIS VISION... we hold a high standard for our membership.  We believe that God has a significant calling for every person in the church.  We teach and structure our membership process to help people fulfill the calls of Christ. We direct people to grow spiritually while being in community with one another through small groups.  Our vision is to see an expanding number of small group meeting in homes throughout the community.  We also envision the entire core of our church going through an intensive 1 to 1 discipleship program.    BECAUSE OF THIS VISION... we challenge our people toward the life of servants.  We envision many different kinds of ministries to reach people according to their needs, and to build people up in Christ.  We envision ministries to our children, youth, college age, singles, married couples, and seniors.  It is our dream to have a strong care ministry to our community, recovery ministry for people facing addictions, and divorce recovery for those suffering through the tragedy of divorce.  We envision a leadership community growing within the church body, where people are equipped as leaders to serve and minister in the church.    BECAUSE OF THIS VISION... we believe in reaching people outside the church.  We envision cultivating a passion for sharing the message of Christ to the lost around us.  We know we are here to help others find the door to salvation.  At Renaissance we envision hundreds of people coming to Christ through our ministry. It is our vision to be a growing church.  If we are reaching people we should be growing.  It is our dream to add services and staff to support the growth of the church.  In time we envision the need for purchasing property and raising a building. We also envision being involved in helping plant other churches, and to be significantly involved in world missions to fulfill the great commission. For Him, Gary Comer
